The Scoop

Stick out your tongue and say "AHHHHH." That kindly person holding the popsicle stick is a physician assistant, a skilled medical professional who can tell you exactly what's causing that annoying cough. Physician assistants, as the job title suggests, assist physicians (doctors) in helping to see patients, diagnose diseases, and advise patients on the best treatment for their bodies. While they must still submit to six years of science-heavy schooling, "PAs" can then fast-forward to a rewarding career in the health industry, while physicians must complete upwards of eight years in school. As a PA, you can also open your own private practice, helping athletes or the elderly with physical therapy.
